| Hi!
I feel as though it has been a thousand years since I have written. Fact I learned last night from a friend at Old Chicago's. The Italian Nachos have 2800 calories in them. (Thankfully, he told me once we were done with them, and we didn't quite finish them). What? It made me never want to eat out again! There is so much stuff that is bad for you, but that tastes so good! Ah, dilemma.
So, this month is a new venture for me. Last month was convincing RJ to take Tango dancing lessons with me. And this month is a pottery making class. Do you guys remember at Bethel when everyone could take and love pottery? Me too. And I always wanted to, never did. Until now. So one of the first projects the instructor had us make was a "Taco Fish". I know you are all wondering exactly what I wondered. "What the heck is a taco fish?" I'll have to post a picture at the end of the session of classes when I get it back. It is just that. A fish that looks like a taco. Kind of reminded me of third grade art. Maybe fourth. Either way, it's definitely not getting a place on my shelf permanantly. =)
So the office is closed today (speaking of The Office, do any of you guys watch that show? Hilarious!!!) for Good Friday (Happy Good Friday!), and I am trying to figure out what to do with my day. It's one of those that I feel has a lot to it, but I don't know which thing to do first. Oh well, time will tell.
Does it make me a bad Christian if I am going to a Denver Nuggets basketball game this evening? I sure hope not. =)
I hope everyone has a happy Friday. You deserve one.

I fell over in church this morning. Just fell. There was no one around me. At all. I was behind a table. And then I fell over. It was awesome! =) A good check in humility.
It's been an interesting week. Not super exciting, but not boring either. It feels like one distraction after another keeps me going. It's just a weird time.
We have a benefit for a mission trip we are taking as a house in May this Tuesday. It's a spaghetti dinner. We are going to Biloxi, MS to re-build Katrina houses with Habitat for Humanity, and there will be about ten of us. I am really excited! So tomorrow is the day we cook spaghetti!
I am watching Anger Management with Sarah and RJ right now, and they are both asleep. It's sorta cute. I think I may join them soon...=) I hope you all have a good night!

Sinclair, Shannon Nelson, Tara Redepenning, Sarah Stewart, Alexandra Holden, Brooke Elise Bushman, Matt Malloy, Michael McShane, Will Sasso, Lona Williams, John T. Olson see related | We're having a Super Bowl party today at the house. It is a lot of work, but so fun, too. We converted the dining room into a living area with couches and bar-like tables so we could watch the game projected onto a huge sheet on the wall. I'd say overall, it is a success, typical. There are three girls on the couch next to me, and all of us have our laptops out. It's amazing. =)
Sarah, Audra, Shiela, and I are doing this new workout routine called "Slim in 6." It is a muscle building exercise series that for once, I don't hate! I think it's because it is less cardio and more repetition for the muscles. Anyhow, we'll see in six weeks. =)
Sarah and I went to a class this weekend on how to make "Fused Glass Pendants." It was so fun! It reminded me a lot of friendly plastic, but with glass instead. We ended up making so many more than we thought we would, so it was cool to get a new kind of inventory for our jewelry making.
So besides my flat tire in the cold weather on Friday night, I had a good weekend. I do hope you did as well. | | |
| Do you ever feel just angsty at all people inside? Or like the slightest wrong move could put you over the edge with the next unsuspecting victim who waltzes into your room when you're going for alone time?
Me too.
It's confirmed: I am an introvert.
A friend of mine died this week. It sucks a lot. I knew Denver for four years, two of which were after the accident that paralyzed him from the waist down. It stings. Worse than when you find out the boy you like likes someone else, or won't write back. Take your pick.
I feel like a ticking time bomb, always knowing that a puddle of tears is no further than a spilled cup of water or a shattered vase away. Hmmm...grief. Always a surprise what will happen next.
I'm sure mighty time will do the trick, it always heals. Always.
All my love.

| I am not sure if anyone out there is a fan of playing spades or not, but I just have to tell you all this story really quickly. So a friend of mine has taught me to play a couple of times over the last year or so, but it always sort of intimidated me to play with him because he was so good. And I wasn't quite as confident as either he or I needed myself to be in those games, so I would just pray a lot that it would end soon. So, today, when he asked if Sarah and I wanted to play against him and another guy in the house, I was nervously hesitant to say yes, but reluctantly did so. The game begins. Competitiveness vs. non-competitiveness is easily spotted amongst the genders at hand. Sarah and I are laughing, the guys, not so much. Pressure builds, and is piled on thickly as hand after hand, the Ace of Spades is casually tossed out from its temporary owner's grasp causing either a sigh of relief or a sharp intake of breath from players around the table. Our score rises, from -150 to 0, to 4. It is now 445 to 4, as the supposed last hand is dealt. With a quick glance of certainty, Sarah and I nod in agreeance (and table talk). She must go blind nil. It's our only shot at a quick 200 points to hopefully off-set the guys. As Sarah decides to go that route, I slowly contemplate...what if I were to go blind nil as well? What could a quick 400 points gain for us? Possibly the game. Has it ever been done before? Winning when both partners go blind nil? The guys confirm: no, it has not. But I was in the mood to defy current spades history, so in a split second, I yell: "I'm going blind nil too." The guys laugh. I'm not sweating even a little. The hand begins. First trick-guys. Second trick-guys. Third trick-guys. Could it be our lucky day? Eleventh trick-guys. Twelfth trick-guys. SERIOUSLY????? And in the last second of decision, my jack of spades makes an unlawful appearance. I was hoping, praying, and hoping some more. But Augh! To no avail...The last trick is mine, the last card played, the last man standing. But for two girls who don't care a bit about winning, we came pretty darn close, if it wern't for my last jack. Final score 204 to 539. Effort, when taken seriously, produces wins and skill. Moral of the story: Effort, when caring is questioned, makes me only want to play spades double blind nil from here on out... | | |
